The End of Poverty

Okay, so rare is it that I have heroes that are still alive and breathing and gracing this earth with their presence. Dr. Jeffrey Sachs is one such hero. I admire his work, his tenacity, his fortitude to do the right thing even when he gets tremendous grief about it. This book was on the New York Times bestseller list...how can a book called "The End of Poverty" do that? Well, because Sachs has a way to help human beings like you and I feel like we can make a difference in the suffering in Africa. How Sachs is able to galvanize people around the 8 Millennium goals and work towards eradicating extreme poverty, well, it's inspirational and I pray it will work so that the lives of our brothers and sisters in various countries of Africa might improve with clean water, food, education, shelter. The foreward of the book is by Bono, lead singer of U2.
