World Gone Beautiful
World Gone Beautiful : Life Along the Rum River
Review by Carol on 2009-01-28
From deep affection to exasperation - worry to joy, this spirited and spirit filled memoir is told with honesty and humor.
Buturian's stories of the families and land of her intentional community on the Rum River in rural Minnesota is interspersed with memories of childhood and other places. She combines descriptions of gritty daily chores with loving observations and utopian longings that shuttle us between the tensions and redemptions of life.
I am envious of her commitment to live more simply in community and grateful that I was the one reading about it. I am moved by her constant surprise that "love keeps finding us".
